Physician NonClinical Careers with John Jurica

Jan 18, 2022

Dr. Debra E. Blaine was born in New York City and grew up on Long Island, New York. She attended Baylor College of Medicine to earn her MD. She returned to New York for post-graduate training and has practiced Family and Urgent Care Medicine on Long Island and Queens for over thirty years.

She discovered that she loves writing thrillers – even more than practicing medicine. Her first novel, CODE BLUE: The Other End of the Stethoscope, was released in 2019.

Debra is also a Certified Professional Coach, Master Trainer, and Certified Group Leader. So, she works with clients who are struggling to navigate the corporate world or those who themselves wish to write and publish. And she continues to write herself.

During our conversation, she described the options for publishing a book. She explained that the three major approaches are self-publishing, traditional publishing, and hybrid publishing.
