She describes her journey from dermatologist to coach, her approach to career transition, examples of three successful clients, and the five common mistakes to avoid along the way. Heather provides encouragement and reminds us that we can, and should, pursue a career that brings joy and fulfillment.
She goes into some detail discussing the model for career change that she has developed. The acronym CARPE DIEM reminds us of the steps, with each letter representing part of the process: Commitment; Assessment; Research; Preparation; Execution; and, Do I Enjoy Medicine? By answering that question and working through each of the steps, physicians will achieve the career and the life that they want.
